30 REASONS TO NEVER PUT ANOTHER M&M IN YOUR MOUTH EVER AGAIN!

30 REASONS TO NEVER PUT ANOTHER M&M IN YOUR MOUTH EVER AGAIN!

Plain-MMs-Pile
Many people love eating M&M’s, that’s true. These chocolates that look like buttons are very tasty and there is no person who doesn’t like them. But there is another hidden truth about them. Check these 30 reasons not to eat the chocolates:

The red M&M’s were once banned

In 1976, these chocolates were banned because it was believed that FD&C Red #2 was a carcinogen. But, in 1983, they were back on the market, despite consumers urging the brand owner Mars to remove the dangerous dyes from the production. Namely, these artificial colors have been labeled as neurotoxic chemicals by a Change.org petition and a press release from the Center for Science in the Public Interest.
According to the recommendations of CSPI, warning labels which list the risk of the eight approved FD&C food colors, need to be on every product which contains them. According to Dr. Jacobson from the CSPI, the evidence showing that these petrochemicals worsen children’s behavior are convincing and he hopes that the committee will be able to convince the agency to require warning notices and encourage the companies themselves to use more natural colorings.

The original M&M’s contained the following ingredients:

Milk chocolate (sugar, chocolate, cocoa butter, skim milk, milkfat, lactose, soy lecithin, salt, artificial color), sugar, corn starch, >1% corn syrup, dextrin, artificial colors (Blue 1 Lake, Red 40 Lake, Yellow 6, Yellow 5, Red 40, Blue 1, Blue 2 Lake, Yellow 6 Lake, Yellow 5 Lake, Blue 2),gum acacia.
