5 Things Selfish People Do In A Relationship

5 Things Selfish People Do In A Relationship

ARE YOU WITH A SELFISH PERSON?
It’s just a sad fact that there are selfish people who exist in this world. And it can also be very challenging to identify these people. You would never want to find yourself attached in a relationship with a selfish person. For the most part, people will always try to do good in life. They will try to be on their best behavior when interacting with other people.

However, there will be a select group of people who will just act on their own accord. They won’t have any regard for how their words and actions can impact other people. These people are parasitic and they will try to leech as much as they can from innocent people without any remorse or mercy.

There is just no such thing as a healthy relationship wherein one person is just constantly using and abusing the other. Healthy relationships should always be a give-and-take kind of situation. It should never be one-sided. There should always be a balance in a relationship because that’s how mutual respect is maintained.

Nobody should ever be relegated to a predator-prey kind of relationship. No one should ever be made to suffer perpetually so that another person can always live comfortably. Relationships are supposed to be proper partnerships. That’s why you should do yourself a favor and just completely avoid dating selfish people as much as you can. You will end up saving yourself from a lot of heartbreak and disappointment. You don’t want to be victimized by a selfish person at all.

An experience with this kind of person can leave you emotionally scarred and traumatized. You don’t want to have your soul broken into pieces and be left without anything to show for it.

But the issue remains that love can often blind us to the truth. We try our best to believe that love can help pull us through the toxicity but that is rarely ever the case. We can’t let our love cloud our better judgement. We should always make sure that we are acting in accordance to our best interests.

That’s why you need to read through this article. You have to be able to spot the signs of a selfish partner before you start falling any further. The deeper in the hole you get, the harder it will be for you to get out and recover from it.

1. They think that it’s either their way or no way at all.

They are intolerant of the opinions of other people. They think that they are always right and that people must always follow everything that comes out of their mouths. They don’t really respect opposing points of view and they just plainly don’t respect other people at all. They only think about themselves and they tend to get tunnel vision a lot. It’s difficult for them to work in group settings; and in relationships as well. They are also incredibly stubborn and it can be stressful to get into arguments with them.

2. Your relationship is always characterized by negativity or neutrality.

Every conversation that you have with each other never has a good outcome. You’re always caught in perpetual arguments that always leave you resenting each other even more. It’s as if none of your conversations take on a positive or constructive manner. You are always at each other’s throats and it has come to define the very essence of your relationship. That’s how you are known at this point. Your relationship is just full of negativity and toxicity, and you just need to get out of it.

3. You feel like you’re the only one who is putting in the effort to make the relationship work.

Relationships are hard work. It takes a lot of time, effort, and commitment in order for a relationship to even have a fighting chance. But if you find that you’re in a relationship wherein you are the only one who is actually committed to making things work, then it’s a doomed relationship. You have a partner who is willing to kick back and relax; who is willing to just let you do all the work. Relationships shouldn’t be like that. Relationships should have proper synergy with both adults sharing equal responsibilities.

4. They don’t like to put labels on your relationship.

They don’t care about giving you a sense of security or comfort in the relationship. They don’t care about your insecurities. They don’t care that you’re feeling vulnerable. They will refuse to give a label to the relationship out of selfish reasons. They won’t care about giving you piece of mind because it doesn’t really affect them much.

5. They still flirt with other people for fun.

They don’t give a damn about how you feel. They couldn’t care less when you experience heartache as a result of their actions. They will flirt with other people just to feel better about themselves; in an effort to boost their egos. Even if it means that you get hurt in the process, they are still going to end up doing what they want to do.
